Introducing Benjamin Lee Prewitt

Hi, I'm Benjamin Lee Prewitt, I received my Bachelor of Science from Eastern Kentucky University  in Richmond Kentucky, and am working on a masters degree from Iowa State University in Agriculture Education. I have a provisional secondary teaching certificate  in Agriculture education from the state of Kentucky and a Tennessee Department of Education out of state teacher license in agriscience grades seven through twelve.

I am an enthusiastic agriculture teaching professional that has a talent for engaging students and making them feel excited about learning. I am not only involved in the classroom, I am also a supporter and volunteer for after school extracurricular activities. I have hands on experience in the agriculture field and this translates to real world examples in the classroom that is a refreshing change of pace for my students. This hands on learning helps students to better understand and retain the material that I am teaching them.

I am looking for a position that will use my talents for teaching and mentoring young people. I lead by example and have been very active in my community by being a Goodwill volunteer, and a Young Men’s Christian Association volunteer. In addition, I have been a summer basketball coach at Whitley County High School from 2005 to 2008 where I worked with elementary school children during summer basketball camps.

I have an excellent work ethic and experience in teaching, coaching, and mentoring along with excellent interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of technology.
